Dear advocates of the western culture if you want people to be respectful of your culture you have to learn to be respectful of theirs. Firstly, you have to refrain from being self-centered, believing that your culture is the only culture that exist or the only one that worth acknowledging. It is very arrogant to believe that because you practice a certain custom it is therefore a standard for everyone else.
We do not all adapt the customs of your holidays, in fact; most of us find them to be quite savage and materialistic in nature. In the honor of respect, before you reach out to greet someone in the spirit of your cultural heritage, first ask them if they are also an advocate of such practice.
It is very offensive to force your cultural beliefs on others when they have not declared to be humble supporters of it. Also, not because you have convinced yourselves that your holidays are in the spirit of love doesn’t make it as such.
